ROLE OF THE PTA COUNCIL OF BALTIMORE COUNTY

The PTA Council executive board gives services and information to the 158 local PTAs and more than 53,000 members in Baltimore County. SERVICES OF THE PTA COUNCIL
  • THE PTA COUNCIL EXECUTIVE BOARD provides a continuous resource of information and personnel. These individuals may be called by local PTAs for assistance. They also represent Council on a variety of commissions, councils, interagency committees, and task force groups.
  • THE PTA COUNCIL BULLETIN is published monthly during the school year. Each PTA receives four free copies of the BULLETIN; additional copies are available by subscription at a cost of $6.00. Click here to print the subscription form.
  • THE PTA COUNCIL BUDGET PACKET helps local PTAs understand the operating budget needs of Baltimore County Public Schools. The packet gives information on effective participation.
  • THE PTA DIRECTORY is published as a service to local PTAs and is a convenient leadership information source for local PTA officers. Each PTA receives four copies of the directory.
  • THE PTA COUNCIL FALL WORKSHOP provides informative workshops on current topics of interest to PTA members.
  • THE PTA COUNCIL PROGRAMS held three times a year provide on-going education and information. A business meeting occurs before the program. Each PTA may send as many representatives as they wish but only four from each PTA have voting privileges. Delegates vote on issues and in elections brought before the general membership. In addition, Leadership Training helps PTA leaders be prepared in PTA policies, procedures, and practices.
  • THE PTA COUNCIL HONORS local PTA members for their dedicated service at the annual Spring meeting. The PTA Council also gives a LOCAL UNIT AWARD to the outstanding local PTAs. For those administrators, teachers, students (PreK-12), and PTA officers who have died while serving Baltimore County Public Schools, the Council makes a donation in their name to the Maryland PTA scholarship fund.
  • THE PTA COUNCIL OFFICE is located at Cockeysville Middle School.
  • THE PTA COUNCIL LIBRARY/RESOURCES are available to loan to local PTAs.
